The BIT is a multidisciplinary team that meets regularly to serve five major functions for the College:
- Provide consultation and support to employees in assisting students who display concerning or disruptive behaviors
- Gather information to assess situations involving students who display concerning or disruptive behaviors
- Recommend appropriate intervention strategies or disciplinary sanctions
- Connect students with needed campus and community resources, and
- Monitor ongoing behavior of students who have displayed disruptive or concerning behavior.
The overall goal of the BIT is to promote a safe college environment for all students and employees focused on student learning and student development.
By encouraging all members of the campus community to report behaviors that are concerning, the BIT will be able to reach out to students to intervene, 提供支持, and connect them with resources that can assist them.
As such, the BIT asks that the campus community report concerning, “red flag” behaviors. A “red flag” behavior is a questionable, 可疑的, or inappropriate behavior that may be presented through a student’s appearance, 口语或书面语, 或者具体的动作.
Silent Witness is a program designed to allow confidential reporting of incidents or suspected criminal activity. 校园警察 will follow up and investigate all Information submitted using this program.

John Wood Community College and the 校园警察局 are committed to providing the highest level of quality campus law enforcement services to the JWCC campus community.
JWCC and the 校园警察局 recognize the extreme value in the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and have developed these procedures to maintain compliance.
The 校园警察局 prepares, 发布, and distributes to all current JWCC students and employees, and to any applicant for enrollment or employment, via the 校园警察局 web site and, 应书面要求, the Annual Security Report. The report contains information respective to the 校园警察局 policies and procedures, and campus crime statistics.
The 校园警察局 takes several steps to ensure that required crime statistics are compiled accurately and completely for the most recent calendar year as well as the three preceding calendar years. The Chief of Police is primarily responsible for compiling the annual crime statistics report.
局长沟通, 至少每年一次, with Records Office personnel from the local law enforcement agencies who have concurrent jurisdiction with JWCC and the JWCC Vice President for 学生服务, to collect required crime statistics data.
The Chief sends an annual campus-wide email notice asking for all JWCC employees, who are considered campus security authority, to report any information on campus crime statistics that were reported to them during the year.
